Greetings, everyone.

First and foremost I would like to apologize for my behaviour on my previous missive. What I did was wrong, and I will make no excuses for my behaviour. I should not have let fear cloud my judgment and allow me to make hasty decisions that could and likely will affect everyone in this settlement, and I see that now.

Moving forward, I would like to ask of all of you to give your opinion on opening the door once more. With the current situation, there is much time for discussion and proper preparation if that is what is chosen. I realize that these words likely mean little to many of you due to my last missive, but I will keep my word on not opening the door unless more agree than disagree.

Again, I would like to apologize and thank you all for your time in reading this.

Before I place any vote, I'd like to know what compelled you to change your own decision. If the letter from Eris is the only reason you want to open it, my vote is still a no. If there's something more, I could be persuaded.

It is my hope that we might find the reason for peoples disappearances beyond that door. You may not, but I did trust Ms. Eris, however foolish people think me for it.

You also assume that I had not spoken to her at length about the door before hand either.

I figured someone would say something like this, so let's get make one thing absolutely clear. There are three reasons I was able to get through to her when you were not, and only one of them has to do with me being "in her inner circle", and even then only coincidentally.

One, yes, I do know her, and thus I know what lines of logic and argument to use to sway her.

Two, I was willing to do whatever it took to make her see sense.

And three, I'm capable of diplomacy and tact.

I was reading the other objections made. None of the people making them, yourself included, even came close to possessing any of those traits, and they would be essential to persuading any opposing side in any argument of this magnitude. So it really shouldn't be surprising that none of you managed to get through where I did. Now I'll grant you that it should never have been relevant, and I've made that abundantly clear in ways I won't repeat because, frankly, I'll admit I was a little bit cruel. But that's a completely separate issue.
